White diesel.
Sizing of your generator depends on what you require the additional power for as each application will have its own power requirement. It is important that when planning for additional generators you consider the level of power the application requires.
Our Genny Hire power generator calculator will assist you in determining what size generator you may require or how to convert one unit of electricity to another. You can find this on our website: Gennyhire.com
kW (kilowatt) is the amount of ‘actual power’ an electrical system has. This shows you how much power is being converted into useful working output.
kVA (kilo-volt-amperes) is the measure of ‘apparent’ power. If kW is how much power you can work with, kVA tells you how much power is being used overall in the system.
The Power Factor (pf) is typically defined as the ratio between kilowatts (kW) and kilovolt amps (kVA) that is drawn from an electrical load, it is determined by the generators connected load. The pf on the nameplate of a generator relates to the kVA to kW rating.
Generators with higher Power Factors more efficiently transfer energy to the connected load, while generators with a lower Power Factor are not as efficient and result in increased power costs
The standard Power Factor for a three-phase generator is 8.
